Flamenco at Corral de la Morería
Corral de la Morería is a small tablao in the old Moorish quarter, a short walk downhill from the Royal Palace. It is one of the rooms people mean when they say they saw flamenco in Madrid. Book it. Sit close.
What it is
A tablao is not a stadium concert and it is not a folklore parade. It is a room with a wooden stage, a guitar, singing that does not care if you follow the words, and dancers who work closer than a theatre pit. Corral de la Morería opened in 1956 on Calle de la Morería and has been a serious house ever since — names on the bill, a late kitchen, and a reservation that is not optional.
A restaurant is attached, including a separate gastronomic dining room. Dinner and the show are related, not the same product. Some nights you eat and then watch; some listings are show-only with a drink. Read the package. The room is intimate. A four-hundred-seat theatre (Teatro Flamenco and others) is a different night. Shows run in the evening, often more than one seating. Weekend late slots fill first. The same bill can feel different on a Tuesday and a Saturday because the singers decide the temperature of the room. You are not buying a fixed soundtrack.
How to get there
Address: Calle de la Morería 17, between the royal palace, the viaduct and La Latina. Metro Ópera (lines 2 and 5) is the cleanest stop — walk south and downhill, five to eight minutes. La Latina (line 5) and Tirso de Molina (line 1) also work. From Sol, walk west then south; give yourself twenty minutes the first time. The last turns are residential and easy to overshoot.
Taxis know the name. Do not drive: the lanes are one-way and on a slope. After the show, Ópera is still the easiest Metro, and the palace floodlights on the walk up are part of the night. If you did the palace that morning, the tablao is the downhill evening of the same hill.
Arrive ten to fifteen minutes before the seating on your voucher. Latecomers get leftover chairs. This is not a festival you wander into mid-set.
Tickets and price
Prices move with the package: show-only with a drink is one band, dinner plus show is another, and the gastronomic room is a third. We do not print a fake euro figure. Expect a night that costs more than a cinema ticket and less than a reckless tasting menu — then read the from-price on the listing for your date.

Walk-up tickets exist on quiet nights and vanish on Fridays. If flamenco is why you came to Madrid, book before you book the flight home.
What the night feels like
You will be sitting close. Phones go down when the singing starts. The guitar sets a floor; the singer takes the room; the dancer arrives when it is already warm. Company clapping is part of the music, not a cue for a football chant. Watch the feet and the hands. You do not need Spanish to know when a verse landed.
Dress is smart casual — a tablao, not a nightclub. Clean jeans are fine; a football shirt is not. Dinner seatings last longer than show-only. If you have a dawn train from Atocha, take an earlier seating.

Tips
Eat in La Latina before a show-only ticket if you want tapas and a short walk. Cava Baja and Plaza de la Paja are the obvious circuit, and crowded at 10 p.m. on a Saturday. An earlier dinner and an earlier seating is kinder. Cobbles and heels are a bad mix. Leave a buffer if you already walked the palace that morning.
